How Does Tone Work In Films?
    Tone is usually used to set the mood. The brighter it is the happier the scene is but when the colour is a bit dull it can be sombre or sad.

What else can we call tone in films?
    Tone can be called brightness as well.

What are the 3 main elements of tone?
    The three main elements of tone are lighting, exposure and art direction.

How and why does Coppola use tone in the classic film 'The Godfather'?
    Coppola used dark and underexposed tones for the movies. He did this to show the contrasts of the family with the others hiding behind the shadows and some that don't know what's going on behind the shadows.

How can directors control the feelings of the scenes?

How does over-the-shoulder-shot work?

What is the effect of an over-the-shoulder shot? 

The effect of an over-the-shoulder shot is to help connect your characters and help the viewers to be able to feel as if they're in that scene themselves.

What film aspect shows a disconnection between characters? 

Using a single shot can show a disconnect between your characters.

How does the director of this scene show the disconnect of the characters?

By using a dolly shot or a single shot it shows that the characters are no longer
understanding each other perspective.

What eventually totally isolates the female character? 
The close-up framing shows that the female character is now totally isolated.

Tricolon/tripartite

What is it?
   The Tricolon is a term that includes three parallel words, phrases that comes quick and straight with no breaks.

Why is it used/What is its effect?
    It is used to give a greater sense of completeness, and wholeness. It also makes you highlight your point.

Antithesis

What is it?
  Antithesis means "opposite" is used as a rhetorical, where two opposites are placed together in a sentence to get a contrast effect.

Why is it used/What is its effect?
 It's used to point out the contrasts. The structures of the phrases are similar in order to draw attention from the readers.
